Overview

WARUNG SOLO Mbah Tjemoek stands as a genuine gateway to Javanese culinary tradition right in the heart of Tangerang’s bustling Mekar Bakti neighborhood. Nestled on Jl. Citra Raya Boulevard, this unpretentious eatery invites both locals and visitors seeking authentic flavors from Solo and Jogja in a setting that balances casual comfort with cultural warmth.

The menu is a heartfelt tribute to classic Javanese dishes, offering specialties like Selat Solo—a delicate beef stew rich with clove-scented spices complemented by fresh vegetables and boiled egg—and Bakso Rusuk Campur, a soulful meatball soup with succulent rib cuts adding depth and character. For those craving something boldly flavorful, the Ceker Melotot delivers a punch with its fiery, aromatic chicken feet stew, capturing the essence of traditional spice blends without overwhelming the palate.

WARUNG SOLO’s space caters well to small groups and family gatherings, featuring ample parking and seating for about thirty patrons. The simple, no-fuss ambiance reflects the eatery’s focus on food, letting the rich, home-style flavors take center stage. Without the distraction of overly modern décor or loud music, diners can immerse themselves in genuine Javanese dining, which is reinforced by the friendly, welcoming service.

This establishment clearly targets those who appreciate authentic Indonesian cuisine rooted in tradition—families, casual diners, and food enthusiasts eager to explore regional specialties. The inclusion of market snacks, or jajanan pasar, adds nostalgic value, bringing back memories of vibrant local festivals and street markets. Beverages like Es Kerampul and Wedang Rempah enrich the experience, pairing naturally with the hearty, spice-laden dishes.

Customers often praise the balance between affordability and quality, highlighting the consistency of taste that transports them straight to Java’s culinary heartland. While the place forgoes air conditioning, many see this as part of its charm—preserving the authenticity of a classic warung atmosphere where the focus remains on traditional food rather than modern luxuries.

WARUNG SOLO Mbah Tjemoek is more than just a restaurant; it is a culinary journey through Java’s rich heritage served in a straightforward and accessible manner. For those seeking real Javanese flavors in a relaxed environment, this warung promises a rewarding and memorable dining experience.

Nice place to dine with family. It is a casual type restaurant and no specific attire are required. The food ranged from bakso, soto, timlo and assorted snack. One of the specials is ceker melotot, as a type of spicy soup with chicket feet as main condiment. Prices are affordable, and the taste of the food is spot on.

Warung Solo Mbah Tjemoek is one of the restaurants which is located between roundabout 4 and roundabout 5. Has ample parking space for both motorbikes and cars. The restaurant itself is not too big but can be enough for a small group. More or less can accommodate up to 30 people. This restaurant sells Indonesian cuisine. There are various types of meatballs selling, Fried Chicken, Vegetable Lontong, Liwet rice, claws and various snacks. Teler ice also available. The meatballs taste good. The fried chicken is also delicious combined with the spicy taste of the chili sauce.
